Generally, mare's milk does not contain enough copper or zinc to meet the needs of the fetus or foal. These, among other nutrients, are necessary to ensure the healthy development of bones, organs, coat, and digestive processes. It is therefore extremely important to increase the supply of these nutrients in the last three months of gestation so that the unborn foal can build a reserve via the umbilical cord. In the first three months of life, this reserve is available for the foal's bodily functions. Pavo Podo®Lac contains all the important nutrients for the mare, fern, and foal.
