About Pavo®Lac Pellets
The development of healthy bones and joints is crucial for a horse's health and performance, something that top breeders are aware of. Nutrition plays an essential role, starting while the mare is still pregnant.
Pellets for pregnant and lactating mares
With Pavo Podo® Lac Pellets, you will provide the fetus and suckling foal with all the important nutrients. Mare's milk naturally contains very little copper and zinc; however, these are necessary, among other nutrients, for the proper development of bones, organs, coat, and digestive function. This is why it is so important to increase the amount of copper in the last three months of gestation, so that the fetus can accumulate a reserve in the liver through the umbilical cord. In the first three months of life, this reserve becomes available, and the foal can use it for healthy development. Pavo Podo® Lac Pellets contains all the important nutrients for the fetus and suckling foal and can be given from the last three months of gestation until weaning, inclusive.
Protein in Pavo Podo® Lac Pellets
Based on years of forage analysis, we know that energy and protein values in forage vary widely and are generally low. However, these are indeed very important nutrients during gestation and lactation! That's why Pavo Podo® Lac Pellets contain, in addition to a large amount of vitamin E, a high protein and fat content.
Pavo Podo®Concept: 3 steps to a healthy foal
At Pavo, we always do extensive research on the ideal feed for the world of animal breeding, and from that, we developed the exclusive Pavo Podo® concept: four products that connect perfectly and support the growing foal with all the important nutrients, especially during this crucial period when bones and joints are developing.
- Pavo Podo® Lac Pellets is step 1 to support the mare and foal.
- Step 2 is the Podo®Start foal pellet.
- Step 3 is the Podo®Grow growth pellet.
*Tip: Do you feed your foals little or no concentrate of our Podo®Concept? Then Pavo Podo®Care (pellets) is a nutritional supplement for foals up to 24 months of age.
